We are planning our event with everyone’s utmost health and safety in mind. We are working with the City of Cleveland, and state, county and local health officials.  Our event will be in accordance with the CDC guidelines that are in place when we host our live event in September. As we get closer to the event we will post the safety protocols that will be in place on race day.

When does the race begin?
The 2 mile race will start at 9:15am. The 5 mile race will start at 10:00am.

Where does the race begin?
The race will start and finish near the Church on the Detroit Avenue bridge.

What distances are available?
Distance options include a 2 mile race and a 5 mile race. Both events are timed.

Are there age restrictions at this event?
No, all ages are invited to participate. Children in strollers may participate free; all other children must be individually registered.

How is this race timed?
Both races will be B-tag chip timed. This method provides a disposable timing chip on the back of your race bib. There is no need to return your bib or chip after the race.

Where can I see my results?
A link to EnMotive’s hub will be received upon crossing the finish line via email and text if participants opt in. Race results and photographs will be at the Hub. At that link participants can download and print a finisher certificate that is pre-populated with their name and time and they can pull their photos and friends photos into a video montage. Race results will not be at the SMCR website and will not be at McCarthy’s. They will only be at the EnMotive hub.

Are there pacing restrictions or a course cutoff time?
There are no course restrictions or cutoff times. All participants are welcome to take either course at their own pace (running, walking, or a combination). Please note that participants walking at a considerably slower pace than the majority bulk of participants may be asked to move to the sidewalks at police discretion to allow city streets to reopen.

Where can I park on race day?
There is on street parking as available and free parking at the Nautica Parking lot.

Will there be bathrooms/portos available?
Yes, portos will be available at the start/finish line. No bathrooms will be provided There are no restrooms on the course.

Are there water stops/aid stations along the course?
Yes, there will be one water stop along the 5 mile route.

Can I run with my stroller?
Yes, strollers are allowed. Please consider your pace when lining up for the start – slower runners and walkers to the rear for your safety and the safety of all participants.

Can I run with my dog?
Yes, This is a dog friendly event. With that said you should make sure that your dog is prepared to complete the distance in which you are entered. You must be prepared to be a good pet parent. All dogs must be on a leash (Non-retractable) during the event. Based on your pace we would ask that you be aware of the other runners. We look forward to having you participate and Please “Don’t forget your poop bags!”

Can I wear headphones on the course?
Yes, headphones are allowed on the course. Please be courteous to runners around you: keep your volume low enough that you are able to hear passers or any course instructions given by volunteers.

Will there be bag check?
No, bag check will not be available at the race. Please DO NOT leave items inside St Malachi facilities; the church will not be open after registration and the safety of your items cannot be guaranteed.

I won an award but was unable to stay to claim it, what are my options?
Unclaimed awards can be picked up at a Second Sole store in Northern Ohio by arrangement only. Please contact Sharon Chapman at runstmalachi@outlook.com

Will race photos be available?
Upon crossing the finish line participants will receive an email and text if they opt’ed in. This will include a link to race results and photographs. Is it safe to register online with a credit card?
Yes. We use the EnMotive registration system for online registration, which provides safe and secure payment processing. Your payment information will be protected by EnMotive. Transactions will be secure and safe and meet all PCI Compliance regulations. We will never sell or share your information with any third party.

Is there a processing fee for registering online?
Yes, EnMotive registration includes a small credit card processing fee.  This fee goes directly to EnMotive and allows them to continue providing top-quality online registration services, race results, photography and finishers certificates.  The processing fee also allows EnMotive to stay secure and safe for transactions and meet all PCI Compliance regulations.

Why do I have to pay sales tax?
The tax is levied by the event on behalf of the respective governments, the event will not get any additional amount, it is taken by the event- from the seller’s point of view nothing has changed, the buyer pays the tax and the event takes it to pay to the government.

Can I register my whole family/group at once?
Yes. When registering online, you are able to add additional registrations to your cart before checking out.

I did not receive a confirmation email, how do I know I am registered?
You can check your EnMotive account for ALL your currently registered races by signing in on the EnMotive website.  If you are having any issues accessing your EnMotive account, you can verify your registration by emailing EnMotive at help@EnMotive.com.

What do I get with my registration?
In addition to being a part of one of Cleveland’s oldest and greatest running traditions, all registered participants will receive an event shirt, a finisher medal, B-tag chip timing, on-course entertainment, a post-race party at McCarthy’s with live entertainment and your first beer is on us.

I would like to change race distances, am I able to do so?
Yes, you can change your distance. If you have not yet picked up your packet, you can change your distance via your EnMotive registration account.  If you have already picked up your packet and want to change, on race day go to registration in the St. Malachi Hall and ask for assistance there.

I can no longer participate in this event, what are my options?
You are able to transfer your registration to another person; there is no fee to transfer.  Find your registration in your EnMotive account and follow the transfer instructions.

I am registered but unable to attend, can I still get my shirt?
Yes, you are able to pick up your items at any of the packet pickups prior to race day.  After the event, arrangements may be made to pick up at a Second Sole store depending on shirt size availability.  We DO NOT mail shirts.  Please contact Sharon Lowe-Chapman at runstmalachi@outlook.com if you would like to schedule a post-race pickup.

Do the shirts run true to size?
Yes, they run true to size for a standard t-shirt.

Will packet pickup be available before the race?
Yes, packet pickups will be held at the following locations.

I am not able to make it to a pre-race pickup, can I get my packet on race day?
Yes, race day registration and packet pickup will take place at St Malachi Church starting at 7:30am.

Can I register at packet pickup?
Yes, you can register in person at a packet pickup with cash or check. Please note, online registration will still be open during packet pickups – if you would like to register with a credit card, please do so online.

I picked up my packet in advance, but lost or forgot my bib on race day, what do I do?
A new bib can be assigned to you on race morning, please attend race-day registration to receive a new bib.
